Welcome to the Planetary Health Piñata Project!

The Planetary Health Piñata Project is an arts-based learning experience that invites youth and the community at large to explore planetary health, and community wellbeing by designing and building piñatas as powerful storytelling tools.

Creative expression helps young people make sense of complex issues—like community development, health inequities, and environmental justice—by turning abstract systems into something tangible, collaborative, and meaningful.

Piñatas are a great way to explore such complexities while having fun!
The project is designed for high-school and early college students, educators, and community partners who want to engage youth voices through creativity, hands-on learning, and collective reflection.

Workshops are hosted in schools, community spaces, and public settings across Riverside County, with flexibility to adapt to indoor or outdoor environments.
The experience unfolds over three facilitated sessions, delivered over several days or weeks, creating space for learning, making, and reflection. The goal is to equip youth to engage in public health advocacy and contribute to systems, policy, and environmental change.

Participants move through guided conversations, collaborative design, piñata-making, and group reflection—using art as a lens to understand planetary health and imagine healthier futures together.
